The team had been designing a website for PNC Bank in Canada. The client was happy with the UX but felt the UI would not resonate with users. I was tasked with creating a new direction.
I started by comparing traditional banks to newer challenger banks, exploring more vibrant colours and different ways to approach illustration.

There was a lot of work to update in only a few weeks. I needed a strategy that delivered the highest impact, without redoing everything.
To do this key pages were prioritised for greatest customer impact. Then the larger scale of changes were made with efficient use of design systems and a more stripped back styling approach.
